Ai Weiwei’s Laundromat

Ai Weiwei’s Laundromat is not a typical art exhibit, some say there's nothing special about it as it is just a collection of old clothes and shoes. Well indeed, as we enter the exhibition hall , one can only see the clothing racks and tons of footwears. However, unless one finishes the Human Flow documentary and closely examine the snaps around it dun na our heartbreaking journey started. It is sooo moving and teary eyed ung iba... even si Berto Kookai Shobaki na touched... bigat sa dibdib, kita m brutal struggles ng refugees. The Laundromat is definitely a powerful campaign on refugee crisis and pramisssss talaga will touch your heart. Laundromat is a collection of the personal possessions left by displaced Syrian refugees in Idomeni camp in 2016, desperately seeking asylum in northern Europe. Truly heartbreaking yet deeply meaningful nakakaiyak ... one would want to hold esp those baby clothes pero bawal. Ganito yata pag natanda and nagiging sensitive at emotional or thankful lang kasi di.mo pinagdaanan hirap nila. Ending my conversation with a local, sabi nya... MISKIN (unfortunate , poor people) sabi ko yes yes. Hinde ko ma explain in arabic, na we dont even know.if the owners of these belongings survive the trail. A must see exhibition after the Chinese Terracota Army and Muhammad Ali Exhibition at MIA. Thank U for Qatar bringing this exhibition iin Doha. #AiWeiwei #HumanStruggles #StandWithRefugees #ThankYouMIA #MuseumOfIslamicArts #MIAQatar
